No limit for online translations in trial version

Germany

In version 4.65.0029, I have reworked the limitations in the trial version.

The limitations are now based on the status of the translation. As I have already described, the status is one of:

  • Original text
  • Edited text
  • From global database
  • From spreadsheet import
  • Online translation
  • Imported localization

The limitations in the trial version are basically the same as before:

  • a maximum of 50 translations from the global database
  • a total of 100 translations

However, I have completely removed the limit for online translations and imported localization.

The status Imported localization means that the translation was already present in the resource files in the project, either entered by hand, or using some other tool. The limit of 100 translations effectively applies to the status values: edited, global database and spreadsheet import.

Allowing unlimited online translations means that you can make a rough translation of your complete project, just using the trial version. You can also export the texts to an Excel file, but you will probably hit the limitation if you try to import the translations back.

I don't think that a serious localization can be based solely on online translations. As soon as you start correcting the translations, the status is changed, which means that they are counted towards the limit.

By the time you hit the limit, you should be hooked on the product and have to buy a license.biggrin
